DESCRIPTION:Our annual Educational Masterwork Collaboration returns having reached hundreds of student musicians across the Denver metro and Northern Colorado areas over the past five years. This is some of the most important work CRS undertakes\, connecting with student musicians and supporting music educators. This season we are thrilled to bring to life Dan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo. \nDan Forrest’s Jubilate Deo brings to life the global aspect of the traditional Psalm 100 text\, “O be joyful in the Lord\, all ye lands\,” by setting it in seven different languages and drawing from a wide spectrum of musical influences. Each movement combines some characteristics of its language-group’s musical culture with the composer’s own musical language. Movements include liturgical Latin\, intertwined Hebrew and Arabic\, Mandarin Chinese\, Zulu\, Spanish\, Song of the Earth (untexted)\, and a closing movement combining several of these languages with English. SUMMARY:Arvada West Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:The Arvada West Choral Music program has established itself as having one the premiere programs in the United States with an invitation to perform at the 2017 National ACDA Conference in Minneapolis.  Numerous choirs have also been selected to perform at CMEA conferences in the past several years (the top state honor for high school ensembles) – including 10 appearances since 2009. The choirs also consistently receive straight “Superior” ratings at festivals and competitions. \nAWest choirs have performed in numerous cities and prestigious venues across the United States\, including Los Angeles\, New York City (Carnegie Hall)\, Washington\, D.C. (Kennedy Center)\, and Chicago (Orchestra Hall) – and have traveled internationally\, performing High Mass at the Basilicas of St. Peter’s Rome and St. Mark’s Venice.
