DESCRIPTION:Save the Date for this upcoming concert benefitting The Preservery Foundation. Featuring selections from Franz Schubert’s Winterreise arranged for string quartet and voice. \nEnsemble Charité is a not-for-profit organization with both charitable and musical ambitions. The concept is to perform concerts\, most of which I will conduct\, of different size ensembles depending on the repertoire\, including full chamber orchestra\, string quartets\, or string chamber orchestras. There will be a mix of professional leadership\, and pre-professionals gaining experience. The orchestra and overhead of the performances will be funded by donations. The concerts will take place in the cities of the chosen charity\, and will optimize for using local musicians. 100% of the ticket proceeds will go to the charity. Eventually\, we would like to have concerts all over the world\, raising money for a variety of charitable organizations.

DESCRIPTION:Team Zimbabwe is mobilizing once again to bring hope to over 600 orphans and vulnerable children at Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care in rural Zimbabwe.  You can walk\, run\, ride\, swim\,or even skip as you raise donations to feed\, clothe\, provide medical care\, school fees and many other necessities to so many children in need! \nThere are several ways you can join Team Zimbabwe as we MOVE to bring HOPE TO THE ORPHANS in Zimbabwe: \nOn Sunday\, June 2\, 2024\, we will be gathering at Riverdale Regional Park in Adams County to ride\, walk\, run or skip as we travel  “a mile” (or more) in the shoes of an orphan in Zimbabwe. Other activities available at the park include volleyball\, frisbee golf and even fishing!  We will be providing a boxed lunch to pre-registered fundraisers. Join us for a day of fun and fellowship as we “Move” for the orphans and learn about the ways we are providing hope to these vulnerable children! \nYou can also join Team Zimbabwe as a Virtual participant\, raising donations for the orphans in Zimbabwe in any way that works for you.  You might decide to participate in another organized ride/run/walk or simply complete a certain number of miles on your own time in honor of the orphans. \nChallenging Times Call for Courageous Action!  Get MOVING and save lives! Women are Talking! — Adrian Miller \nText: Numbers 27:1-8 \nCouncil Executive Director Adrian Miller \n\nAdrian Miller is a Colorado native and a lifelong member of Campbell Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Denver\, Colorado. Adrian is a graduate of Stanford University and Georgetown University Law School.  After practicing law in Denver for several years\, Adrian became a special assistant to President William Jefferson Clinton and the Deputy Director of the President’s Initiative for One America.  The President’s Initiative for One America was the first free-standing White House office in history to examine and focus on closing the opportunity gaps that exist for minorities in this country. The One America office built on the foundation laid by the President’s Initiative on Race by promoting the President’s goals of educating the American public about race\, and coordinating the work of the White House and federal agencies to carry out the President’s vision of One America.  \nAfter his White House stint\, Adrian returned to Colorado and served as the General Counsel and Director of Outreach at the Bell Policy Center—a progressive think tank dedicated to making Colorado a state of opportunity for all.  In 2007\, Adrian became the Deputy Legislative Director for Colorado Governor Bill Ritter\, Jr.  By the end of Gov. Ritter’s first term\, Adrian was a Senior Policy Analyst for Gov. Ritter where he handled homeland security\, military and veterans’ issues.  Adrian was also Governor Ritter’s point person on the Colorado Campaign to End Childhood Hunger which significantly increased participation in the summer food and school breakfast programs. \nAdrian is also the author of the James Beard Foundation Award-winning book Soul Food: The Surprising Story of an American Cuisine\, One Plate at a Time (University of North Carolina Press\, August 2013). His next book\, The President’s Kitchen Cabinet: The Story of the African Americans Who Have Fed Our First Families from the Washingtons to the Obamas was published on President’s Day 2017. \n\nSpecial music from The Chancel Choir; Mallory Bernstein\, piano.
