Along the way\, he meets a group of fellow musicians who become his friends and allies. As they navigate the ups and downs of the music industry\, they learn the true value of friendship and staying true to themselves. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNet profits of these performances are proudly donated solely to our co-production partner\, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance in Denver\, Colorado.

SUMMARY:Janinah Burnett\, soprano\, with Central's Chancel Choir
DESCRIPTION:Janinah Burnett is one of the foremost performing artists of her generation. A versatile singer\, actor\, musician\, writer\, arranger\, and educator\, Burnett is in demand and has thrilled audiences domestically and internationally in opera\, recital\, musical theatre\, jazz\, television\, and film. Some of her signature operatic roles include Mimí in La bohème\, Leila in Les pêcheurs des perles\, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni\, Micaëla in Carmen\, Marguerite in Faust\, and Violetta in La Traviata. An original cast member of Baz Luhrmann’s La Bohème on Broadway as Mimí\, she won a Los Angeles Theater Alliance Award and performed on the Tony Awards Presentation.   \nBurnett was on the roster of principal artists at the Metropolitan Opera for eight consecutive seasons debuting as Bianca in La Rondine. She was a member of the closing cast of Phantom of the Opera on Broadway\, making appearances as “Carlotta Giudicelli” since 2016.   \nIn February 2021\, Burnett released her debut album\, Love the Color of Your Butterfly\, which features musical arrangements and collaborations with some of the world’s finest jazz musicians including Christian Sands\, Sullivan Fortner Jr.\, Casey Benjamin\, and Terreon Gully who produced the project. Released on her own record label Clazz Records\, Love the Color of Your Butterfly is an amalgamation of jazz\, opera\, art song\, oratorio\, rhythm and blues\, and spirituals and introduces her concept of “Clazz\,” which encourages collaboration and redefines the parameters of genre while embracing parts of history that are erased\, widely unknown and forgotten. Love the Color of Your Butterfly has been featured in numerous publications including the Financial Times\, Playbill\, Broadway World\, Downbeat Magazine\, and Opera News.  \nwww.janinahburnett.com \n

DESCRIPTION:Stories in Song\nBach\, Brahms\, Schubert and Haydn\n\n\n\n\nEnsemble Charité will collaborate with Cultural Caravan to present Stories in Song\, featuring: \nYumi Hwang-Williams – violin\, Andrew Krimm – viola\, Joshua Halpern – cello\, Jeremy Reger – piano \nMichelle DeYoung – Mezzo Soprano \n100% of ticket proceeds will benefit The Preservery Foundation\, a Denver-based nonprofit organization that provides hunger relief to people experiencing homelessness. \n\n\n\n\n“Ensemble Charité is a not-for-profit organization with both charitable and musical ambitions. The concept is to perform concerts\, most of which I will conduct\, of different size ensembles depending on the repertoire\, including full chamber orchestra\, string quartets\, or string chamber orchestras. There will be a mix of professional leadership\, and pre-professionals gaining experience. The orchestra and overhead of the performances will be funded by donations. The concerts will take place in the cities of the chosen charity\, and will optimize for using local musicians. 100% of the ticket proceeds will go to the charity. DESCRIPTION:Formed in the fall of 2021 and officially founded as a Denver-based nonprofit in January of 2022\, the Denver Rock Orchestra may be the new kids on the block\, but we’re here to rock! After two years of shuttered venues\, cancelled gigs\, and wary audiences\, the DRO arose from the intense desire to reconnect musicians with their craft\, make fun music together\, and cultivate a new\, positive musical community. We are female-founded\, committed to accessibility/accountability in our community\, and dedicated to fostering good-vibes. \nEnhancing Denver’s vibrant arts and culture scene\, the DRO is here to celebrate popular music\,\ncombining the high art of the orchestral sonic experience and the toe-tapping\, body-shaking\, guitar-smashing catharsis that can only come from turning the dial up to eleven. We are here for the playlist makers\, the top-40 savants\, the genre-curious\, and those who grew up on a steady diet of music videos. \nThe DRO’s leadership and roster of instrumentalists (strings\, woodwinds\, brass\, percussion\, and more!)\, vocalists\, and support crew all come to the ensemble as volunteers with regular day jobs\, home lives\, and side hustles. \nTheir uniting force? The intense desire to ROCK!
