February PNC Update

Beloved Community – The Pastor Nominating Committee has asked Session to call a congregational meeting on February 23rd for the purpose of presenting the pastoral candidate to the congregation.  One of the final steps of the process is for the candidate to deliver a sermon at Central followed by a congregational vote to issue a call to the candidate as our next pastor.   We encourage you to attend this momentous occasion in-person on February 23rd.

This joyful event is the culmination of efforts that officially began at our congregational meeting in January 2024 when Pastor Louise announced her plans to retire.  The Transition Team was immediately formed and received approval from the Presbytery to begin the mission study process. The following congregational discussions  helped us articulate what makes Central Central and our collective vision for our future.  The Pastor Nominating Committee was officially formed in July and began a nationwide search process to find our next pastor.  The PNC process included reviewing over 50 applicants, several rounds of virtual interviews, final in-person interviews and sermons delivered at neutral pulpits in the Denver area.  After much prayerful discernment, we are delighted to introduce a candidate whom we are confident will lead Central forward and will provide inspired ministry to our Denver community.

In order to protect the confidentiality of the candidate, we will not be sharing the candidate’s name or background in advance and the service unfortunately cannot be live-streamed.  The candidate is currently serving another congregation and we are obligated to protect confidentiality until the vote is finalized.

The Pastor Nominating Committee has been honored by your trust and grateful for your prayers and support throughout this process.  We are excited to begin Central’s next chapter together.
